Legal advice for Company directors

Introduction

Corporate Legal is proud to provide legal services to lawyers and business persons around the world. As Ireland continues to become a centre for global enterprise, we receive queries from business and their lawyers in a large number of different jurisdictions. These range from specific questions about aspects of Irish commercial law to drafting or reviewing commercial documents. We also provide legal advice and representation in disputes, including litigation, mediation and arbitration.

Our services

Advising about company registration in Ireland: Our company law experts can advise you about the different kinds of companies which can be registered in Ireland and which one best suits your intended business activity. This is an important first step in company registration because some activities can only be carried out by specific kinds of companies.

Advising about licenses and permissions: Some business activities may require special permissions from Government bodies. An example of t his is certain financial activities which may require a licence from the Central Bank. Our lawyers will explain the licensing procedures and assist you in making the application for a license.

Incorporating your company: We can incorporate your company, usually within a short timeframe. This includes drafting the necessary documentation such as the constitution. In the case of foreign clients, there may be some additional steps involving registration of directors. Our lawyers will advise you about this where necessary. It is also highly advisable to have a shareholder agreement, which we can also draft for you.

Our monthly retainer service: We recognise that companies often require ongoing legal services, sometimes on a day-to-day basis. Some companies choose to employ in-house lawyers for this purpose. However, this can be expensive and may not be suitable where the amount of work does not justify a full-time employee. Our monthly retainer service provides businesses with their own experienced commercial lawyer who will be available throughout the month to provide legal services. The lawyer will not be an employee, giving your company the flexibility to avail of their services only when required. The retainer saves our clients thousands of euros per month and has proved highly popular with clients in Ireland and abroad. Click here for more information about this service.

Drafting and reviewing service: Our lawyers are highly experienced, specialist draftsmen. Whether it's a shareholder agreement, a software licence agreement or a highly complex contract, we can draft it for you. If you already have a legal document, for example a contract you intend to use as your standard terms and conditions, and would like to have it reviewed, we are happy to assist with that too.

Legal disputes: We specialise in advising and representing clients in disputes. These can be anything from a disagreement between shareholders of a small company to complex contractual disputes between large corporations. We will advise you about exactly what you can expect from the Irish court system, the likely timeframe and the likely cost. Litigation is always a last resort for us - we will attempt to resolve the dispute by other, less expensive and time-consuming, methods such as mediation where possible.

How much it costs

Ireland is known to be one of the most expensive countries in the world when it comes to legal fees and costs. In order to mitigate against this, we will strive to provide you with a fixed fee quote where possible so that you know the exact cost before engaging us. Our fixed fee approach is not only transparent but it also results in considerable savings over an hourly-rate model. It does not cost anything to obtain a fixed fee quote so please do contact us for more information. You can click here for more information about our fees.
